English bulldog breathing?

I have a 6 year old english bulldog(purebreed). He has always been very healthy. Recently, however, it seems as if his breathing is a little more rapid then normal. He has always snored(like most bullies) but his snoring is much louder and much more frequent then ever. He is eating and drinking water as normal. Could anyone give me an idea of what to do?

where did you get the dog? pet store or breeder? usually petstores and some backyard breeders will sell unhealthy dogs. english bulldog females are generally infertile, 1 in 20 will be able to have pups, so when low class breeders find a fertile female, they will breed her with whatever available male on hand. with that type of breeding, it can result in genetic defects, and narrow nasal passages is one of them. your dog will continue to grow, but the nasal passages will not, causing breathing difficulties. plus, dont be alarmed, it is very common in bulldogs to have breathing difficulties because of the facial features. to be on the safe side, i would take him into the vet for a checkup to see if this will cause long term damage. worse case scenario he will need minor surgery to correct the problem. if not, get some earplugs!
