Yoga Babies Help Motor Skills Development
Babies are so sweet when you see them move their arms and shake about trying to discover how their bodies can move. All babies have less control of how they move about. But soon enough they discover how to hold their heads up, how to move from side to side, how to roll over. Then now will know how to use their bodies movements to lie on their stomach. They have a steady increase of using their hands and arms to roll over and over again. They use their hands and fingers to grasp any item they get hold of. Your baby’s firsts, isn’t this a precious sight to behold.
Motor skills are longer to improve to some babies. Motor development takes longer for even babies with down syndrome. Nevertheless, you have to do exercise with your babies to properly improve their motor skills. Yoga exercises are best for babies motor skills development. Here are some poses which might be useful for your baby:
Cradling Seat Hold – This position strengthens the spine from the neck down to the sacrum. It coordinates back muscles. You have to use your strong hand to hold the baby’s bottom to let her sit down. You can sit, stand or kneel. You then have to support his head with your other hand. Make sure that the neck is also supported. Lift your baby slowly then balance her in your hand. Practice this to get your baby balanced on your hand and upright as possible. Hold the position then hold your baby close.
Rolling Baby – You have to slide your baby’s chest on hand and hold her arm firmly between thumb and forefinger. Then place your other hand between her legs to support her abdomen. Move your baby’s face down then you need to be sure that you keep her head alligned to her spine. Rest it on your forearm to give her head additional support. This is the best part: roll her up inwardly to face you and give her a kiss. Roll her out again face down. Start with gentle rolls and then increase to bigger movements. Surely, your baby will enjoy this.
