5 Stop Snoring Devices You Probably Haven’t Tried
The first time you hear someone you love snore, most people smile, giggle, or even laugh outright. But after the first hour, the second night, or the third week, a partner’s snoring is going to start having a detrimental effect on your own sleep.
There are a lot of anti snoring devices and products on the market today. Most of them seem to cost a small fortune. Here are five inexpensive and effective stop snoring devices most people haven’t tried:
5. Nasal strips
Nasal strips are, essentially, band aids with strips of thin metal or plastic inside. You stick them on your nose and the metal pulls your nose open, ensuring you get good airflow while you’re sleeping. Professional athletes often use these during games to ensure they too get an optimal amount of oxygen while they are playing.
2. Nasal dilators
Like nasal strips, nasal dilators are intended to keep the nostils open, but work from the inside. Usually made of coiled plastic or stainless steel, these little devices are simply inserted into the nostrils. Pressure from the coil keeps the nostril open, increasing air flow and reducing snoring.
3. Sleep Position Monitor
This stop snoring device emits a beeping noise whenever the snorer changes position (like onto their back) so the snorer can reposition himself. Unfortunately, this device may also wake up the partner of a snorer and the cure may be more disruptive than the snoring itself.
4. Stop Snoring Throat sprays
One natural remedy that has seen a lot of success for many who have tried, is a throat spray for snoring. Formulated with natural ingredients, this snoring spray contains essential oils that when sprayed on the throat, provide a lubrication that reduces that amount of vibration, effectively reducing the snoring. However, you should know that when used too often, this spray may often lead – ironically – to even more snoring.
5. The Anti-Snoring pillow
One of the most common causes of snoring is due to an improper sleeping position. Try pushing your chin against your throat and breath. You most probably just snored! This happens often when people lay down on a big fat pillow (especially if they sleep on their back). The throat is partially closed, resulting in a snore. To solve this, an anti snoring pillow will open your airways and maintain the right sleeping position the snorer needs to prevent snoring throughout the night.
You should consult to your doctor before trying any of these anti snoring devices. Snoring can be caused by other medical conditions that require medical attention.
