Is it too late to fix mouth-breathing?

So, I’ve 17 and I’ve been breathing with my mouth for my whole life. My parents and my brother do not breathe through their mouths, though, so I don’t know if it’s genetics. Anyways, I’ve never known it was a big problem until I felt like researching it.

Apparently, by breathing with your mouth you can develop sleep disorders and ADD. Also, I know that breathing with your mouth screws up your teeth. I got my braces off almost a year ago, and I don’t want to go back to them again. It sucks when I’m running, cause I can’t breathe well. It’s a lot of effort to breathe with my nose though. I can’t even talk if I try to breathe with my nose… It also sucks cause it’s hard to breathe when I eat sometimes.

Extra Note:
I don’t snore. I only snore when I’ve had a long day doing some manual work.

Anyone know how to fix mouth-breathing?
Or should I go to see the doctor? How am I suppose to ask them for help?

Acai berry really helps. WTF?! Reported lol
Do you have a wee bump on your nose? You may find its a deviated septum, and that can sometimes be seen. Some snore, others don’t. You might find a procedure such as septoplasty is necessay. Do you wake up with a dry mouth, or bad breath, and are you frequently congested?

Consider it or research;) I have a deviated septum and they said i’d have to have the ‘holes’ widend. I can’t bring myself to go through it though :S I don’t even snore :S
It can also be a habit. Try meditation focussing on your breathing ever so often.

Good luck!
