Daughter wakes in the night and is glued to me the whole day. Why is this?
My daughter is 21 months and she still breast feeds. Anyhow occasionally she wakes up int he middle of the night and wont go back to sleep until I nurse her and then she comes in our bed. She will nurse back to sleep but I dont get much sleep as I will sleep stiff to guard her from hubby rolling onto her or him snoring. Then when we do wake up (her and I since daddy is at work) she will be soooooooooooo clingy to me. She will want to nurse literally every 5 mins and is very sucky. Why is this? On these days she takes too much from me to a point where I feel like passing out. I get very frusterated as she wont even let me go to the bathroom by myself. Most days she is fine but when she is like this I dont know what to do.
Sounds (and keep in mind I don’t REALLY know the situation, but it sounds) like she’s overtired. When she wakes in the night, give her some water. (Maybe a new exciting night cup is in order) Hold her for a minute. Tell her, I’m going to put you back in the crib when this song is over…sing and then lay her down.
After that I would let her learn to sleep on her own. It’s a valuable skill that both she and you need! Bless you, I hope things work out!
