Snoring Adenoid

Is it dangerous for a 3yr old to have enlarged adenoids?

She doesn’t have any problems eating. But sometimes when she drinks, she’ll gasp for air. Her main problem is while she is sleeping–she snores very loud & sometimes she seems to stop breathing for a few seconds & catches her breadth. She soundsl like she’s congested, but when she blows her nose, it is usually dry

My kids had huge adenoids also. You really do need to take her to see an Ear, Nose, and Throat Specialist to see about having her tonsils and adenoids removed.

My son’s adenoids were so large that he had problems breathing through his nose as a result. He ended up needing a “Shwartz device” (palate expander from the dentist) to widen his mouth since not being able to breath through his nose caused his jaw to not widen correctly.

Having her adenoids removed will also stop the snoring.
