Anyone own a boxer ?
We just got our new puppy yesterday, he is 6wks old boxer. Right now he is lazy , sleeps a lot and constantly wanting someone next to him. Is this just because he is still a baby? I don’t mind it at all My 3yr. old carrys him like a cat and he likes to sleep on her stomach , he crys every time she gets up and follows her. So i’m happy cause when i thought of a boxer I thought of a mean dog who didn’t like kids. Will he stay this way ? I wanted a dog I can feel comfortable knowing he won’t turn on my daughter . So far so good. Is your boxer good with kids ? What are some tips u can give to keep him good with my kids and happy as our new family member. Should i let my daughter carry him? Or does that usally bother them , So far he loves it. By the way he snores is this normal ?
a boxer is excellent with children as long as you keep an eye on them. teach your daughter not to get too close to his face just in case. carrying depends on the dog (whether or not he gets used to it). snoring is totally normal. unless it starts sounding like congestion, you dont have to worry about it.
puppies love attention and they will do almost anything for it!! as long as you treat him with love and care, he will grow up to be a great family pet! meaness (sp) is a learned behavior as well as kindness.
1. it is usually better to feed your pet between 1pm and 3pm that way he/she stays full and is not really hungry all day and night.
2. train him ASAP!!! a trained dog makes for a happy family and a very well behaved pet.
3. giving your dog a (PET FRIENDLY!!) vitamin such as vitamin c, keeps him healthy, fends away allergies and colds, and really helps with the shedding problem.
i highly reccomend the sites below.
good luck with the puppy!!!
if your dog starts limping – check it out RIGHT AWAY!
my dog sammy just came out of major surger (he snapped his acl..anterior cruciate ligament..and now has a huge cast on his leg all because of a little limp.
