Would you break up with someone simply because they were a horrible snorer?
I’ve been dating a girl for about 4 years. While we get along, I miss being able to cuddle with my girlfriend. You see, this girl snores … REALLY loudly. To the point where people can hear her in the next apartment at night. I sleep every night with headphones or ear plugs. I miss the days of my last girlfriend who didn’t snore… we would cuddle/snuggle and I would get such a good nights sleep.
I’m very close to breaking up with my girlfriend because she snores so bad. It affects my health a lot. I’ve gained weight because I don’t sleep well, and the lack of cuddling is really taking a toll on me. Worst of all, she has promised me for a very long time she would go see a doctor, and hasn’t yet… that’s my biggest complaint.
Am I wrong for wanting to break up with her? I can’t sleep.
I wouldn’t break up with someone I had been with for four years because of this, without trying very hard to fix it first.
You need to tell her just how much this is affecting you, and that you need her to go to the doctor. She may not realize how serious of a problem this is. If you talk to her and she still won’t go, then tell her you cannot sleep with her anymore, and you can’t be in a relationship where you sleep in separate areas. Hopefully she’ll go to the doctor then.
