How to solve snoring!?
I believe that this is quite a common question as ard 50% of the population have such problem from being in mild to moderate or even an alarm clock standard. Due to amount of family members constraint in a hse.. I end up having to share same room with my parents. My dad tends to snore pretty loud that I cant fall asleep. From time to time I am used to it, but after a period of time sleeping in my sis room as she’s overseas. Now that she’s back, I am back to my parent room. I had serious problem from not being able to sleep. Is snoring spread by genes too? Cos I found out that my sis does occasionally snore too but isnt so bad. But my brother is as bad as my dad. As for me, I heard that I do too but dont know how bad it is. I would like to know is there any way to solve such problem? Besides having to go through doctors.
weight is not a problem? as my dad is average size. tats goes the same to my sis.
Snoring usually is worse when lying flat on your back. To help this problem, a pocket can be sewn into the back of the snorer’s pajama tops. A tennis or golf ball in the pocket will “encourage” the snorer to roll over to sleep on his/her side.
Alcohol or sedative medications make snoring worse, and therefore should be avoided.
Snoring is exacerbated by normal airflow through a narrowed area in the throat. Part of the narrowing is caused by the tongue and palate falling back during sleep. Some dental devices have been developed that hold the jaw forward. All dental devices are best made by dentist to ensure a correct fit without causing problems.
Sometimes inflammation in the lining of the nose cause snoring. This can be relieved by nasal sprays. Nasal lining also swells when it is cold or dry.
There are many companies that sell products claiming to “cure” snoring, like lubricating sprays, pillows, and head straps.
Also remember that snoring may be a cause of an underlying medical problem. A general medical check up might provide some clues on your father’s snoring problem.
