A Few Questions Regarding Pugs?
Question 1, what is the average cost of a full breed pug puppy?
Question 2, what are the bad things about pugs? i.e. I’ve heard they have breathing issues, which explains the snoring, what else is their health issues?
Question 3, Are pugs okay for apartment life? I know dogs like great danes and larger dogs are bad for apartments, no yard to run around and stretch in, but are pugs a good idea in a medium sized 2 bedroom apartment?
1) The average cost of a purebred toy dog is usually $1000-12000 But the range is between $800-3000 for most purebred dogs.So im sure the pug falls somewhere in there. It depends were you live but im thinking between $800-1200.
2) They can suffer form heat exhaustion, eye infections, they get colds more frequently, some get allergies…they have a tendency to over eat and can suffer from obesity.
3) They make great apartment dogs. All dogs need at least one daily walk, provided you do that a pug does not need a yard.
I think pugs make wonderful pets. They are a bit more prone to having health issues so going through a breeder that does the proper genetic health testing is your best bet in finding a long living healthy pug. Rescues and shelters are also a good idea for adopting and they cost a lot less.
A con is only a con if it matters to you…but they do shed all year around just so you know.
