Sometimes I wake up and I cannot breathe. Is it apnea? I don’t snore or smoke or anything. HELP!?
I tend to wake up in the middle of the night… randomly and sometimes multiple times. I can’t breathe. The weird thing is… it’s almost as if I cannot remember how to breathe. Like my brain isn’t sending that signal. Sometimes it follows a dream where I am drowning or something along those lines. Once again, it’s almost like I cannot remember how to breathe… I am not physically choking. Right when I feel like I am going to pass out from lack of oxygen I gasp for air and begin panting. The doctors insist that I snore and I am choking on something but I had my girlfriend sleep next to me in case it happened and of course it did… and no snoring or signs of obstruction of the airway… just woke up freaking out and not breathing. Sorry for the lengthy details…. let me know what you think. Thanks for your time.
Is it because of your dreams that you’re not breathing? Because while dreaming, sometimes we actually do the actions that happens in our dreams… Try talking to the doctor again, and tell them that it’s definetely not the snoring. If not, try the psychiatrist. It might have something to do with dreams, and emotions.
Good luck!
