Phlegm in newborn chest?
My baby is 8 days old today and sometimes (like when shes sleeping) her breathing changes . Kinda sounds like snoring but u can feel something in her chest. When Im burping her i can feel it through her back. is it just snoring orrrrrr?? Doc told my mom something about using saline and a bulb,but im not sure how???? Any recommendations?
Even if she has no mucus in her nose?
Ive taken her to the doctors twice. Once for the check up after birth..and then cause she looked a tad bit yellow. Hey checked her eyes and ears and chest and everything. Would he of heard it there????
This is sometimes caused by leftover amniotic fluid in the lungs. The doctor would have heard it, though- so perhaps it’s just stridor- they’re not able to blow their own noses yet, so you’ll have to be the substitute nose blower for her 
You place a few drops in each nostril, and use the irrigator (suction bulb) to remove it. Squeeze the air out first before you put it in her nose!
The yellowing is normal (excess billirubin, the breakdown byproduct of hemoglobin) , and if it bothers you, you can ask the doc to do test. They’ll either do a blood test or use a little sensor that looks like an ear thermometer… which is also pain free and a lot quicker.
