I still wake up 3 or 4 times a night, what are some suggestions that would help me sleep better ?

I recently had a sleep study done and the results came back that I had severe sleep apnea. I recieved my CPAP, or Continuous Positive Airway Preasure machine and began using it. My doctor also perscribed a sleep aide to help me get, and stay alseep. Before I was diagnosed with this sleep disorder, I would snore loudly and wake up 3 or 4 times a night, sometimes more. I use my machine but I still wake up 3 or 4 times a night. The sleeping pills I take dont seem to be working, seeing that I’m waking up that many times during the night. What are some suggestions that you have ? And is there a good sleeping pill that I can recommend to my doctor ?

There are lots of sleeping pills on the market that you could try, however look at the broader picture of why you are waking, are you overweight, do you smoke, are you active, are you eating and drinking the right foods. A pill will just add to the cocktail of things you are doing already. Get to the root cause of the issue. Follow the five steps at www.sleep-advice.co.uk (paste into browser line) or challenge your Dr for an explanation of what is causing the apnea.
