Why is “z” related to sleep?
I do not doubt that everyone has seen an image of someone sleeping and a cloud over their head that has a whole bunch of Zs in it. Why do people relate it to sleep?? We don’t make sounds that sound like “ZZZzzZZz” we maybe snore but it’s not even close to the z sound.
it’s because of perception, we (being most of the human race) perceive snoring as sounding like the letter “Z”. And considering that every story book made for children, also present snoring with this letter, theres no wondering why we all perceive it that way.
