Stop Snoring Bernard

i think my dog has sleep apnea?

i have a large breed dog, a great pyrenees, that i suspect has sleep apnea. he is not over weight but like i said he is a big fella, kinda the size of a saint bernard. he’s 3 yrs old and has snored for a while, pretty loud sometimes but this morning he jumped into bed with us and i swear he stopped breathing sometimes when he was sleeping. his nose was right in my face and i noticed it seemed like he stopped breathing for seconds at a time. i put my arm around his chest to see if it moved but it didn’t seem to. then he made a little gasp, opened his eyes for a sec then went back to sleep and snoring.
is it possible for a dog to have sleep apnea and any idea how it would be treated? i think my vet will roll his eyes if i ask him :(

I wouldn’t care if the vet rolls his syes. Find one that doesn’t.
I think it is very possible that he stopped breathing, maybe in dogs the heartrate/ breathing rate slows way down when they are in a deep sleep.
I would just call a couple vets and see what they say.
Good luck

BTW my Mother in Law had 2 Great Pyrenese for years. Sampson and Sheba :)

So loudly that Grumpy Giles tells Bernard to move his snoring somewhere else!Sad and lonely, Bernard tries sleeping in new places far away from the other otters: in a lake, in puddles, in a fountain. But no matter where he tries to n…
