Camping with longtime friends Keeps The Bond
My friends and I have always stuck together. We were friends during high school together and after a well bonded. Now that we're adults, we get together once a year for our camping trip in the north. Every year on the second weekend in August, I jump in the van with my battleship Acoustic Guitar and hit the road for a great weekend.
Everyone has a different idea of what it means roughing. That's OK with me, though, as one of our gang A head chef is a highly rated restaurant. It comes with a cooler full of food and cooks all the time. They would at the magic to make it over a campfire may be surprised. Everyone eats as absolute monarchy. He is up first thing in the morning with his hand blender from pancakes nothing!
Susan also has a very different idea of the campsite. It rolls into a compact RV, all set with all modern amenities, a generator, and some strong batteries to keep them supplied with electricity. I'm pretty sure they get satellite TV in this thing too! This thing is amazing, all set with their home decor To do accents, feels she is truly at home.
So we will eat and drink and reminisce, and then go on our usual 15 miles hike. I used to be much better at this, but now not so much. It's the altitude that gets me, and probably the 30 or so pounds I've gained since we started this first to do what 10 years ago.
It is not an easy hike if you are running on no sleep. Everyone has a case of insomnia with Dave round. His snoring keeps everyone! I swear it was so bad in the first year we were there we thought it was a bear trying to get our food!
Now our camping trips are something very special since the death of our good friend who passed away in a motorcycle accident. He was always there with us, and now it's like his spirit is sitting around the campfire with us now. He's really taught us the value of those weekends away, and we will never forget it.
Our trips are likely to end in the next few years, what with us getting married, children, and all that. We will never stop close to that, and we will always ensure that we still , even if it does not connect as often as we want.
