Toddler Snoring Problem

18 month old in crib….help?

My son is 18 month sold and is extremely big for his age. We have never had a problem putting him in his bed and he goes to sleep with little or no fuss. For the past 2 weeks or so he has turned into a wild sleeper. Throughout the night, he will slam various parts of his body into the crib and cry out in pain. (his head, his arms, his back, etc.) I have gone in his room to find him sideways with legs and arms stuck in between the rails. I cannot move him to a toddler bed because his sleeping is too wild. Has anyone else had this problem? what if anything can be done? Between his restless sleeping and my husband’s snoring I am about to lose my mind. Thanks!
I do have a bumper up. And he sticks things through either on top or underneath them. He is not awake when he is doing all of this whacking around I think he is just turning over, etc.

Maybe a … crap I just lost my words… Oh, yeah – bumper. Bumpers aren’t recommended for babies… But at 18 months, I would think it would be okay… That would possibly block him from smacking into the rails?
